Planning your wedding is stressful and there are so many different “projects” and task to think through. Not only are you planning and dreaming of tablescapes and decor, but you also have to think about when everyone needs to be ready, what time should the ceremony start, and so many little details that it can seem overwhelming.

A well-planned timeline for the wedding day will make things so much smoother the day of. As a photographer, I love getting to collaborate with wedding planners and brides to ensure that everything runs efficiently the day of. While wedding day timelines should be about getting everywhere on time and starting certain portions of the day when you are supposed to, it should also maximize the time you have with your photographer.

This is a long one guys, but it is one of my "most asked questions". Brides, it's hard to think about all the little pieces, but that's why I'm here.

Being behind the scenes on weddings day has given me a new perspective. I haven't been married, I'm not engaged...so this is something that I've learned over my time shooting as a wedding photographer and a second shooter.

There are a few tips that I have to ease that stress on the morning of.

But my biggest tip is to HAVE ALL OF YOUR DETAILS TOGETHER. When I first arrive to start shooting, the first thing on my to-do list for the day is to shoot bridal details, only after saying hello to the bride and introducing myself to the bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride. What Every Bride-to-Be Should Know About Engagement Sessions:

Why do I give a complimentary engagement session to all my wedding couples? Because
IT. IS. IMPORTANT.

For me, I don’t want to just be another vendor that shows up on the wedding and just be introduced to my couples. It’s important to me to get to know my clients as an individual and as a couple.

The engagement session is also the point in time that you get to really get to interact with your  photographer, without the stress of it being your wedding day. I know I’m in my element when I’m behind the lens and I want my couples to feel comfortable with me. I love getting to watch my couples unfold and become confident in front of the camera. This time is like no other, you’re engaged, planning your wedding, and hopefully enjoying all that life has to offer.
