Taylor | Boho Garden Bridal Portraits, Hahn Horticulture Garden at Virginia Tech

I believe that dresses were made for twirling. Nothing makes me feel more like a Disney princess than twirling a dress and I love when my brides decide to pick up their dress for a spin.

After having to reschedule because of the rain (so much rain), we finally were able to take her bridal portraits and I am so glad that we postponed. It ended up being the most gorgeous day. We met at the Hahn Horticulture Gardens at Virginia Tech and scouted a few more places around Blacksburg.

You can see more of her wedding day at Beliveau Estate Winery from this weekend, by head over to their wedding day blog. I had such a fun time photographing her bridal session...we definitely were not short on laughs that day.

Taylor you made the most beautiful bride! Thank you for laughing at my silly jokes and allowing me to be a part of this season in your life.

A few weeks before Kara and Devin's wedding at River View Stables near Lexington, NC I got a sneak peek of her wedding dress. Plus she got to play dress up and what girl doesn't want an extra excuse to wear the gown that she walk down the aisle in.

We took a few portraits at her home in Yadkinville and then drove to Tanglewood Gardens, just outside Winston Salem. They have a beautiful garden and arboretum. The wisteria was blooming and made for the perfect setting for some of this bridal session. I just loved getting spend time with Kara and her mom plus several of her bridesmaids. They were such a help during the shoot...helping carry the dress and making sure it was fluffed.

If you missed Kara and Devin's wedding day, you can head over to this blog post.

Well now that Rachel is Mrs. Cox, I'm finally allowed to share her bridal portraits with you all.

Rachel decided that she wanted to use her Aunts home in Blacksburg,VA for her bridal portraits. And what a great idea it was. There were some killer mountain views, a pretty neat barn and some shady grove of trees just waiting for us.

I couldn't have asked for a better day to shoot her session or a better place either. Her family was so welcoming and helped us move from location to location, as well as moving furniture all around the property...so big thanks to Rachel's family.

If you missed Chris and Rachel's engagement session on the Huckleberry Trail, you can find them here. And make sure you come back to see there beautiful navy, purple and glitter wedding.

Carly | Hahn Horticulture Garden & Inn at Virginia Tech Bridal Portraits

Excited to finally be sharing Carly's bridal portraits. Her dress is seriously amazing! Neutral colored florals covered the bottom of the dress, her sash had gorgeous ribbon flowers around it and her handmade bouquet even had a little owl placed in it.

We got together over a month ago at the Hahn Horticultural Gardens at Virginia Tech. It was gloomy and spitting rain but we still got in some garden pictures before the downpour. We were protected for a while in under a pergola but then we wrapped Carly up, covered up with umbrellas and rushed her back to the car. Since the rain got progressively worse, we went to the Inn at Virginia Tech to finish up her bridal portraits. Since I shoot mostly natural light, this was a fun experiment for me.

Carly's laugh is contagious for sure. You can tell when you go through the images below that she had us all laughing. I can't wait to share her Kyle House wedding next week, so make sure you come back to see.

Laura | Sunflower Field Bridal Portraits

It's been over month that I've been sitting on Laura's bridal portraits. And guys, I have been dying to post them. Laura, Sonia(Laura's mom) and I met up at a sunflower field. Yes, a whole field of tall yellow, gorgeous sunflowers.

Laura was up for anything I asked of her. "Do you mind walking out in the middle of the sunflowers in your wedding dress?" I asked..."Um, of course not" said Laura. She didn't mind a thing.

One can never been fully done shooting inside a field of sunflowers, I could have shot there forever. But we decided to pack up and head over to Heritage Park in Blacksburg. The wide open fields of tall grass and mountain views, plus Laura standing right in the mix of it all=perfection!

If you don't remember Laura and T.J.'s engagement session at Mountain Lake Lodge, you can find them here. And check back tomorrow for their pink, gold and blush wedding at Doe Creek Farm in Pembroke,Va.

Amber & Dustin | A Selah Springs Engagement Photographer

When I first met with Amber at Starbucks…we literally talked for three hours. Nathan started wondering where I was/if I was okay. But we had so much in common that it felt like I had known her for years! Her and Dustin have been together since high school and she describe him as her “big teddy bear” and her best friend. And when I finally met Dustin, it felt like I’d already known him just from hearing Amber talk about him.

I was so excited when Amber first emailed me, because they are getting married at one of my favorite local venues, Selah Springs. They also decided that they wanted to shoot their engagement portraits there too.

Hannah | Diamond V Farm Bridal Portraits

Three whole weeks have gone by since I shot Hannah’s bridal portraits and a little over a week ago she became a MRS! I had looked so forward to seeing her in her dress and for their big day, neither disappointed! Since they were getting married at Diamond V Farm in Blue Ridge,VA she decided she also wanted to take her bridal pictures there. One of her bridesmaid, Megan and her dog, Gracie joined us.  Just as a side note, thank you Meagan for all your help that day! Brides…if you are having a bridal session with me or anyone else, it is always a good idea to bring someone with you. While I was shooting, Megan helped “fluff” the dress, fix Hannah’s hair, held the bouquet when we didn’t need it and held the dog.

And another thank you to Diamond V for letting us come out and shoot. Send them some love today on their Facebook page.

Make sure you check back later this week to see Hannah and Cameron’s wedding day!

Oh these two! I just love them.
If you have followed my Facebook page for a while, you will remember Kaylyn and Jeff. I shot their engagement portraits and they were my very first wedding, exactly one year ago from when we shot their anniversary session. I asked them to get back in their wedding attire and they agreed whole-heartedly. We met at Rockwood Manor in Dublin, Va for a couple of hours to celebrate their one year as a married couple.

It was somewhat foggy, rainy, and slighty chilly with the wind but they battled through it. I loved this session. Thank you two for getting back in wedding outfits for me! And happy anniversary.
