I believe that dresses were made for twirling. Nothing makes me feel more like a Disney princess than twirling a dress and I love when my brides decide to pick up their dress for a spin. After having to reschedule because of the rain (so much rain), we finally were able to take her bridal portraits and I am so glad that we postponed. It ended up being the most gorgeous day. We met at the Hahn Horticulture Gardens at Virginia Tech and scouted a few more places around Blacksburg. You can see more of her wedding day at Beliveau Estate Winery from this weekend, by head over to their wedding day blog. I had such a fun time photographing her bridal session...we definitely were not short on laughs that day. Taylor you made the most beautiful bride! Thank you for laughing at my silly jokes and allowing me to be a part of this season in your life. |

When I first met with Amber at Starbucks…we literally talked for three hours. Nathan started wondering where I was/if I was okay. But we had so much in common that it felt like I had known her for years! Her and Dustin have been together since high school and she describe him as her “big teddy bear” and her best friend. And when I finally met Dustin, it felt like I’d already known him just from hearing Amber talk about him. I was so excited when Amber first emailed me, because they are getting married at one of my favorite local venues, Selah Springs. They also decided that they wanted to shoot their engagement portraits there too.
Oh these two! I just love them.
If you have followed my Facebook page for a while, you will remember Kaylyn and Jeff. I shot their engagement portraits and they were my very first wedding, exactly one year ago from when we shot their anniversary session. I asked them to get back in their wedding attire and they agreed whole-heartedly. We met at Rockwood Manor in Dublin, Va for a couple of hours to celebrate their one year as a married couple. It was somewhat foggy, rainy, and slighty chilly with the wind but they battled through it. I loved this session. Thank you two for getting back in wedding outfits for me! And happy anniversary. I can't tell you how excited I am to show off Ashton's bridal portraits to you all. I have been sitting on them for over a month and it has been so hard to wait. Now that this gorgeous lady is married I can show em' off. I met up with Ashton and her bridesmaid Marlena at Rockwood Manor in Dublin, Virginia. Let me tell you...that place is beautiful! (I'll be showing off her wedding from there soon.) The day was perfect for taking portraits and Ashton was amazing to work with. |
