As soon as Jenni got engaged, she reached out to me and I was so excited to sit down over coffee and chat with her. I shot her sisters wedding back in May and their family is seriously the sweetest. I loved talking wedding plans, listening to the proposal story and just talking with Jenni. Even though I can't shoot their wedding next May (which I am super bummed about)...I still got to capture a part of their love story. O'Neil was a pilot and Jenni thought it would be a neat idea to take a few shots with a plane...um, yes please! Luckily it worked out that we got to go out on the tarmac at the Virginia Tech Montgomery Executive Airport. After our fun with the planes...we headed over to enjoy some time at the Virginia Tech Duck Pond. The fall colors were perfect for their session and it was a beautiful day out. I mean just take a look at the picture to the right...gah! I'm in love with that shot. And let's be honest, I loved this whole session with Jenni and O'Neil. I can't wait to see what their big day holds for them. |

move"'s, and I work really hard to make the guys have fun. Because if we're honest...most guys don't like their pictures taken. And Justin opened up and I got some genuine smiles and laughs. This is why I love engagement sessions...seriously y'all it is just nice to hang out with my couples, who just so happen to be getting pictures taken.
Justin and Sam will be getting married October and I love a good fall wedding, especially if it is one of my childhood friends!
You may recognize this newly engagement couple featured on day four of "PROPOSAL WEEK". This isn't their first time here on the blog...there couples session from last summer was featured on Melissa Hearts Weddings.
Ryan messaged me about putting together another shoot at the same location as a ruse to get Alex to Dismal Falls. It worked beautifully and it was actually true...I just left out the fun part when asking Alex. Once we got the falls, Ryan brought out a leather bound journal that he wanted to use as a "prop". And to Alex's surprise, he'd already written her a letter. As they read it together, Ryan turning the pages for her...eventually he turned it to the center of the journal and inside it held her ring. Seriously you guys, wait until you see her reaction! It was priceless. Alex and I are going to be Co-Maid's of Honor this summer at our best friends wedding and now Alex is planning one of her own.
