Before I was born, my parents needed to find a name for a little girl. They had their boys name all picked out but couldn’t decide on a girl’s name. My mom and dad decided to go camping and as they were sitting in the campground, they talked over names and agreed not to leave until they chose a name. Looking around them for ideas, one of them said “Hillary”, which was on the side of their tent…and the rest is history. I was named after a tent. But I know my love of camping and spending time outdoors is definitely something that I get from my parents. When I was a few years old, my dad found a new place to go camping and ever since it has been an annual thing (or at least we try our best to get there). The Breaks Interstate Park has become a fall trip for Nathan and I. Once we got there, got the camper all set up(which isn’t always the easiest task) and got the fire going. It was so peaceful to just sit by the fire and relax. It was a chilly but who cares? We had the campfire! The next morning, I could tell the sun was coming up so I unzipped the window of the to look out at the sunrise coming through the trees…WHAT A SIGHT! |
Some of you may know that my dear Nathan, has decided to start white-water kayaking. Luckily, he didn’t go down the Russell Fork River while we were there, but there were plenty of people who did! Every weekend in October the dam there lets out water, people come from all over the country to run it at its best. It just so happened the weekend we were there, they were having a kayaking race. Nathan, Carlee, and I took off and hiked down to the river to watch a few paddlers.
Most of the pictures below are from our hike beside the creek that eventually flowed into the Russell. Oh the waterfalls there are beautiful. Who am I kidding…Everything about the Breaks this time of year is beautiful!

And now for some snapchats from mine and Nathan's phones.
And a couple I found from years past with my family! And LOOK its my "Hillary" tent!
Don't know what I am doing here...
