Allison & Ashley: Blue Ridge Parkway Proposal

It has been a hot minute since I've blogged but this one was just too good not to share. We booked a vacation in Boone, NC with our friends and about a month ago I got call from Ashley while I was at work. She told me that while we were there she really wanted to propose to her girlfriend of almost 4 years. 

I immediately went to research mode. Ashley had a couple of places picked out and I started googling them all. Waterfalls or mountains, that was the question Ashley was trying to answer. I kept telling her "I'm game for anything" and "wherever you decide to do it, it will be perfect". I sent a text to our group asking if they'd want to model for me for a few photos and after Ashley decided where she wanted to go, filled them in to the location. 

Ashley knew she wanted to propose at Rough Ridge and we hiked a little ways until we found the spot. I grabbed a couple pictures of the other couples and waited out the crowds for the perfect time for Ashley to surprise Allison. 

While Allison was facing out towards the mountains, Ashley got down on one knee. They got cheers from the crowds on neighboring rocks and from their family and friends that had hiked in with them. Ashley thought ahead and brought them two mini champagne bottles to toast their engagement on the mountaintop. And in true Ashley and Allison fashion, we all took a shot of Fireball to celebreate!
