I love getting to work with couples, but what I love more is getting to shoot people I consider family. Kara and Devin are two of those people! Kara is Nathan’s cousin and Devin is her high school sweetheart, you may remember them from their fall shoot in Winston Salem, NC (You can see them here). As it always is with these two, when Kara messaged me about taking pictures for them my answer was “of course!”. Part of the reason behind taking these pictures is that Devin passed his “Firefighter Certification I and II” which means he can actively help fight fires within a burning structure, plus he got a snazzy new helmet.
Nathan and I took a day trip down to King and Yadkinville, NC. Nathan got to race his RC truck which can go speeds up to 45 MPH…he was like a kid in a candy store! But then I needed to get to work so we met up with Kara and Devin at the Firehouse. After taking pictures at the Yadkinville Fire Department we moved to Haneover Park Vineyard for some nice outdoor shots. I just love their little garden area!
A little side note about the Yadkinville Fire Department’s ladder truck was built 1986. The truck ran calls in NYC on 9/11 and was the first ladder truck in Yadkin county. And thank you to all of the men and women who served then and who serve now!
