I’m a girl that always loved taking photographs, but never dreamed of working with live subjects. Especially as my job. For years, I had a small point and shoot camera and when Nathan told me I should get a DSLR, my answer was “who wants to lug that big thing around?”. I certainly didn’t. We talked more and more about it and eventually with his encouragement; I bought my first camera with exchangeable lens. I loved it! After a short amount of time with my new camera, Nathan kept saying things like “you should take pictures of people”, “why don’t you shoot family portraits?” |
…again, my answer was “why?”. Why would I want to deal with people? Photograph PEOPLE?
Finally, Nathan’s sister-in-law asked me to do their family portraits and around the same time a high school friend asked about couples/engagement pictures. It turned into two “sessions” (if I could even call them that, at this point), in one day. That day changed everything for me. I always said that I didn’t want to work with people, but I fell in love. I can’t believe that I now three and half years into my business taking pictures of PEOPLE. Of friends!
I thought it would be fun to show you where I started and where I am now. So much as changed in the last three years. My style of shooting is completely different.
